Hello everyone, and welcome to my
blog!
I have been reading other
people’s blogs for a long time now, and have spent many an evening wishing I
had something fun and creative to do instead of wasting time watching TV and
doing the same old thing every night. So I have decided to take the plunge and
give blogging a go – I’m not expecting to be a famous blogger, have thousands
of followers or gain notoriety but I think it will a fun way to document life
and get creative!
Whilst I have taken baby steps
into the blogging world before, I never really stuck to it because quite
frankly I always thought I had better things to do. Going out, seeing my
friends and generally being lazy are all things that used to come before
blogging, so much so that I stopped doing it all together because ‘I couldn’t
be bothered’. But life has moved on since then, I am older, wiser, more
motivated and generally a different person and I think this blog will be the
perfect outlet – so hey, here goes!
I realise that if you are reading
this, you will have absolutely no idea who I am, so I thought I would do a
quick get to know me tag…
(I have edited some of the
questions and taken some out, because who cares if ‘I can whistle’ or ‘what I am currently wearing’ HAHA!)
What
is your name? Lauren Elizabeth Prater
When
is your birthday? 16 March
Where
were you born? Reading, Berkshire
What
is your occupation? I am the South Regional Internal Communications Lead for
NHS England
What
colour is your hair? Light brown and some grown out blonde (I was going for the
ombre look but really its just a mess!)
What
colour are your eyes? Blue
Do
you have any piercings? Yes a load! Bellybutton, nose, ear lobes x 2, cartilage
at top of ear, tragus and rook.
Do
you have any tattoos? Yes one on my foot, a random floral design that is BIG! I
got it when I was hungover and going through a quarter life crisis
Do
you have any pets? A lovely French Bulldog called Coco!
What's
your favourite season? I am one of those weirdos who likes every season! Spring
because its so fresh and the daffodils are out and the baby lambs are
frolicking, summer because clearly its lovely and warm and that means pub
garden weather, Autumn because of the stunning copper, bronze, orange, red,
gold and yellow colours that the world turns, and then Winter because I love
wrapping up warm and going for wintery walks, and of course winter means
CHRISTMAS!!
Are
you single or taken? Taken, been with my gorgeous man James for just over two
years
When
did you last laugh and what was it at? God I laugh 24/7! Would either have been
at something my best friend Laura said on whatsapp, or something I said,
because we are of course both undeniably hilarious.
Where
was the last place you traveled? James and I went to Venice in October and it
was AMAZING! Separate blog post coming up about that soon J
Would
you go skydiving? HELL NO. I am not a fan of flying, so the thought of going up
in a plane and then jumping out of it makes me feel mildly disturbed!
If
you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go? I have been lucky
enough to travel to some fab places, but I am very keen to go to somewhere like
Vietnam or Cambodia. Or the Maldives!
If
you had a million pounds what would you do with it? Pay off my mortgage, buy a
nice car and go on a few nice holidays as a starter for ten!
Can
you speak another language? I did French at school so of course I have
forgotten most of that haha. I started to learn Spanish on the DuoLingo app so
can get by in a Spanish bar and order wine just about.
Name a favourite of each-food, drink,
and colour? Cheese, wine, and pink
Name a least favourite of each-food,
drink and colour? Jelly, Jack Daniels and coke, and Orange.
Ski or Snowboard? Ski! Have been
three times, although the boots are so painful I really want to try
snowboarding for some comfort!
